That means 15-minute appointments as standard, fewer administrative interruptions and more time to deliver safe, thoughtful, patient-centred care. Questions GPs ask us
Practical answers to the questions we get asked the most
How many patients will I typically see?
On average, you'll see around 12 patients per clinical session, with 15-minute appointments as standard, giving you more time to focus on each patient.
How much admin will I have to do?
Our central GP Assistant team reviews test results, documents and other administrative work before it reaches you, so you're only dealing with tasks that genuinely require a GP. Work is shared across clinicians within each practice, and because we operate as a group, we can provide additional support during particularly busy periods.
How do you reduce GP workload?
We combine AI scribes, clinician-supervised centralised triage, a central GP Assistant team and a Patient Welcome team who complete observations such as blood pressure, height and weight before the consultation. Together, these allow you to spend more time on clinical decision making and less time on administrative tasks.
Can I work flexibly?
Yes. We offer roles from 4 to 9 sessions per week, with both full and part-time opportunities across our South London practices. All GP roles are fully practice-based. Some practices also offer Saturday clinics, which are optional and never a contractual requirement.

What technology do you use?
We work primarily on EMIS, supported by Accurx, Surgery Connect and AI-assisted documentation. We embrace technology where it genuinely improves patient care, enhances safety and reduces unnecessary administrative workload.
Will I still have continuity with patients?
Yes. Dedicated continuity clinics, patient-led follow-up and robust safety-netting allow you to build lasting relationships with your patients while delivering safe, high-quality care.
Do you offer relocation support?
Yes. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates joining Penrose Health.
Can I visit a practice before applying?
Yes. While most of our recruitment process takes place remotely, we invite shortlisted candidates to complete a paid locum session. It's a chance for you to experience working at Penrose and for us to see how you work in practice.
